Miley Core Fund 11-07-2010 Update As most of you know, I generally don’t trade many of the stocks in this fund. But as a service to you, I will highlight one or two stocks as alternate choices or as supplemental purchases. This week, I will comment on the utilities sector. In addition to Southern Company, I would consider PPL Corp (PPL). PPL Corp is an energy holding company that operates electric and gas utilities in Pennsylvania. It also has a UK subsidiary and has recently agreed to acquire Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities Company. Selling at about 27 dollars share, the stock has very little debt and pays a healthy dividend of 5.3%. So it would make an excellent supplement to your holdings in Southern Company. As always, I urge you to do your research, and make buying decisions based on your resources and investment philosophy. Also, consult with a CPA or other financial advisor as necessary. Disclosure: I hold all stocks in the fund but I may trade stocks in the fund at my sole discretion at any time.
